Does coffee improve memory? Lots of researchers think so.  Caffeinated coffee does seem to boost working memory significantly, so this is a plus for people who have the beverage on a daily basis. since the caffeine in coffee is responsible for this improvement in memory, it indicates that other caffeinated drinks may have the same effect.

However, the studies that have been done so far have all used coffee with the people who have been tested. A number of studies seem to indicate that people who have coffee early in the day, i.e. morning coffee drinkers, can more quickly recall words and phrases.

Drinking coffee is just one of the ways to improve memory. However, the jury is still out on the exact effect that coffee has on long term memory. Some studies show no effect while others show improved performance in the long term, due to better storage or retrieval. In other words, these studies showed that people who drink coffee every day can recall more than people who don’t.
